Catastrophic earthquakes in Croatia

Croatia was again hit by a catastrophic earthquake with an epicenter in Petrinja of magnitude 6.4 on December 28, 2020, the strongest of all earthquakes in Zagreb, Petrinja, Sisak and the surrounding area in 2020. Such a strong earthquake is rare in Europe. The town of Petrinja was reduced by 20 cm, the town of Sisak by 10 cm, the section of the earthquake was so strong that it lowered one part of the ground by 40 cm and the other by 30 cm. As a result, holes of large diameter and depth are beginning to open up in the earth, which are expanding more and more terribly. About 25,000 damaged buildings have been recorded so far.

The ground is not dormant, new earthquakes hit every half hour day and night, of weaker and stronger intensity. Petrinja, Sisak and surrounding places were apocalyptically destroyed. See the situation in Croatia on earthquake applications. This is the most severe crisis in Croatia.

Residents of other places come to help the victims, help comes from other countries, the president, prime minister, ministers, volunteers, the Red Cross, civil protection, wax are on the ground to provide people with such a normal life. Housing for victims is offered throughout Croatia, but most do not want to leave their property. There are many victims and others without accommodation, and the situation is getting worse every day due to constant earthquakes.

People need accommodation the most, mobile homes, caravans, heated tents. The winter is getting stronger, people are sleeping on the streets warming themselves by the campfire. Food is provided on the streets and in the houses, there are enough clothes. Animals and pets are on the streets, homeless, in the rain, winter and cold. Help convoys are coming from everywhere, but help will be needed for many more months this year!

The earthquake in Petrinja, which was destroyed, also affected the surrounding areas. The city of Zagreb was devastated by the March 5.4 magnitude earthquake and the damaged buildings are deteriorating more and more with each movement of the ground that has been constant since then. The damage is increasing, the needs of the people are even greater. In the capital of the country, Zagreb, the earthquakes are very strong, with rumbles, oscillations, power outages and internet, telephone interruptions. Let’s not forget the mental state of the people in the country, which is deteriorating every day. The mental picture of children is getting worse, with the Covid pandemic worsening the situation in the country.

We live in fear of an uncertain future, helping others each in their own way and seeking the help of all.

To encourage everyone, a video was made I give you my heart, my country, look at it, it contains pictures from the epicenter of the earthquake.

You can find all the information on the Internet, on the pages of world and Croatian newspapers, open www.index.hr, www.jutarnji.hr, vecernji.hr and look at the pictures, translate the text by clicking on the right side with the mouse, select the language. You will only be horrified by the information.

We appeal to good people and institutions in the world to help all the victims of the earthquake.
